As a person who loves to travel and document the places I’ve had the pleasure to visit, my preferred weapon of choice is an old analogue camera. As a self taught photographer, it’s how I learned my craft. Call me old fashioned but the tangible and mechanical nature of shooting on 35mm has always appealed to me more than digital. Its not about how detailed a digital image can be, It’s the raw natural view of life as we see it. Waiting for the results and trusting the process is still a factor for me and it’s something I want to instil into my four year old son who is keen to learn. This in itself gives me nothing but sheer joy. The love of street photography and unearthing those hidden gems not obvious to the naked eye is still as captivating as the first time I was given a manual 35mm camera; even when time to stand still is limited with an ever curious and energetic four year old boy.
