Hospital nurses' station with a curved desk, a computer, and signage that reads 'Nurses' Station'. Behind the station, there are two wooden doors, one leading to a patient room with a hospital bed and medical equipment visible. The room has a window with blue curtains and a wall-mounted lamp.

Commissioned by North London Hospice, I photographed their temporary Inpatient Unit at Edgware Community Hospital before patients arrived, creating an archive of the space at a moment of transition.

The relocation forms part of a major redevelopment of the hospice’s Finchley site. After more than 30 years with little change, the existing unit had fallen behind the evolving needs of hospice care. The new facilities mark the beginning of a significant transformation — a space designed to restore the peace, dignity and tranquillity at the heart of the hospice experience.

Due to electrical issues some areas were not lit.
