Sadlers Wells Day Festival

Commissioned by Sadlers Wells East, I photographed PlayLab, a free day festival of scratch performances created for young children aged 2–5.

Commissioned by Sadlers Wells East, I photographed PlayLab, a free day festival of scratch performances created for young children aged 2–5.

Following six weeks of creative exploration led by choreographer Takeshi Matsumoto, six artists shared their early-stage ideas on The Dance Floor. Alongside the performances, families enjoyed face painting, arts and crafts and more activities throughout the day.

Capturing children can be a challenge but the rewards are always moments of sheer joy, innocence and heartfelt emotion.
